NanoBeacon LIVE! Support
NanoBeacon LIVE! follows your bound NanoBeacon devices anywhere: their location history, readings and alerts, in one place. It is the mobile client of the NanoBeaconNetwork cloud service and contributes Bluetooth observations to the Live IoT Passport network.
This guide applies to version 2.0 and later. Version 1.x is a local IN120 BLE scanner with no cloud account; its earlier support guide continues to apply until you install 2.0. Version 2.0 requires iOS 17 or later. Older supported iPhones remain on the last compatible 1.x version.
Updating from version 1.x
Version 2.0 uses a cloud account and binds devices by their factory serial number. The 1.x list of locally saved labels and imported profiles is not a cloud device list and will not appear as bound devices after the update. Before updating, keep any serial numbers and configuration files you need for the old local workflow. If you need the 1.x BLE scanner or its imported profiles for your work, contact support before updating.
Requirements
- iPhone with iOS 17 or later
- A NanoBeaconNetwork account — create one in the App with email. Version 2.0 uses email and password for sign-in; Google sign-in is currently unavailable.
- Devices with a NanoBeaconNetwork serial number on their factory label
Getting started
- Open the App and sign in, or tap Create account.
- Go to Devices and tap Add.
- Type the 22-character serial number from the device label, or scan its QR code. Serial numbers are case-sensitive.
- Give the device a name and tap Add device.
Common questions
“Device found. Its security keys are still being prepared.” The serial number is valid and the service is still setting the device up. Try again in a moment.
“That serial number is unknown, already bound to another account, or retired.” Check the label character by character, including upper and lower case. For security the service does not say which of the three applies. Repeated failures are limited to 10 per 15 minutes.
A device shows Offline. The online status comes from the service. You choose how long a device may stay silent before it is shown offline in Me → Account.
Sharing a device. Open the device, then Access → Sharing, and invite by email. We email the invitation; if the other person has no account yet, they sign up with that same email address. They see the invitation in the App, and get read-only access once they accept. A pending invitation can be emailed again after a minute.
Contribute scan data. Found in Me → Live IoT Passport. It needs Bluetooth and location permission. It is independent of your account and keeps running after you sign out. You can turn it off at any time.
Deleting your account. Go to Me → Delete account, enter your password and confirm. You are signed out right away; the service finishes its online cleanup within 7 days and emails you when it is done. Your devices are released, so someone else can add them later. The Privacy Policy lists what is kept.
Sign-in says only end-user accounts can use the App. Admin and factory accounts use the web console, not the App.
Reporting a problem
Please include your phone model, iOS version, the App version and build (Me → About), what you did and what you saw, and screenshots if possible.
