Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the NanoBeacon LIVE! mobile application (the “App”), provided by InPlay Inc (“InPlay”, “we”, “us”). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms describe version 2.0 and later, the NanoBeaconNetwork cloud client. The 1.x local BLE companion app remains described by its earlier terms.
1. The App
The App is the mobile client of the NanoBeaconNetwork cloud service. With an account you can bind compatible NanoBeacon devices by their serial number, see their location history, readings and alerts, set destinations, and share devices read-only with other account holders. The App can also contribute Bluetooth observations to the Live IoT Passport network (see the Privacy Policy).
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account.
- Only end-user accounts can sign in to the App. Administrative and factory accounts use the web console.
- If Google sign-in is offered in a future version, it is provided by Google as a third-party identity provider and is subject to Google's terms. Google sign-in is unavailable in version 2.0.
- You can delete your account at any time in Me → Delete account. The Privacy Policy describes what deletion removes and what is kept.
3. Devices and sharing
- Bind only devices you are entitled to use. Serial-number checks are rate limited to protect device owners.
- When you share a device, the people you invite can see its data read-only until you revoke access. You are responsible for whom you invite.
4. Scan contribution
Scan contribution sends beacon observations and your precise location to Live IoT Passport, as disclosed in the App and in the Privacy Policy. You can turn it off at any time in the App.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the App or its services, not to access data you are not authorised to see, and to comply with applicable law.
6. Data and accuracy
Readings and locations come from external hardware and networks and may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. The App is not intended for medical, safety-critical or regulatory use.
7. Third-party services
The App uses map tiles from OpenFreeMap (map data © OpenMapTiles, © OpenStreetMap contributors), place search from OpenStreetMap Nominatim, and Apple system services. We are not responsible for third-party services.
8. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code, text and graphics are owned by InPlay Inc and protected by law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App. Bundled open-source components are licensed under their own terms (Me → About).
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for hardware malfunction, data loss or signal interference.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; changes are published here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
